Dressing For A Big Girl Job

img_9001 img_9002 img_9005 img_9010 img_9025Dressing for an office is much more challenging than every day wear. Being that I run a style blog loving fashion kind of comes with the territory so this new found challenge is somewhat exciting for me. Since I can’t wear jeans incorporating non denim pants has been the biggest but most fun challenge. For this outfit I just pulled a pair of my black fabric pants, but I have begun to slowly incorporate slacks. Wearing slacks is totally a different game! I think styling them is wear I have the most trouble. I’ve never had to wear slacks for a job before, so they are totally out of my comfort zone. Being small I also seem to have a hard time finding some that fit correctly. So slacks and a tailor are two new things this job is teaching me about.

Wearing a blazer is so fun though! I love this tweed blazer. Blazers come in so many different shapes and styles that they add such a different feel to an outfit. This one makes me feel like I’m borrowing it from an old English scholar. I don’t know why lol but that’s the vibe I’m getting! Trying to feminize a blazer like this though can be hard. I don’t think I’ve nailed it just quiet yet, especially with this outfit. I still feel like I’m borrowing the look from a man, but slowly I shall make it my own!

What are your tips for office wear? Do you prefer dresses or slacks?

Blazer:Forever 21
Shirt: Forever 21
Pants: H&M
Boots: Franco Sarto

Totally obsessed with that blazer! I love that it is a bit loose fitting, making it so much more versatile than a fitted blazer! xx

I work in a really laid back office so we can dress down all the time, currently I am wearing a long sleeve tshirt leggings and nikes. But when I dress up everyone also asks why I am so dressed up, so I miss it!

That must be so nice though since you don’t have to get ready every day.

Great outfit! I currently work in an office as well, but I prefer dresses. We don’t have a dress code, but jeans are only allowed on Fridays. When it gets cold, I usually switch over to a dress and tights or my skinny pants.

This looks is amazing and the top is a great color just for the fall! I love dresses but I think I could do this look.
