The Carlsbad Flower Fields are somewhere I have been dying to go for a year now. Last year a few of my friends went near the end of the season and after seeing their photos I was so jealous! Their season doesn’t last very long, it is only from March to the beginning of May, and it is right in the middle of when my schooling always got really crazy and weekends start to be more jammed pack. This year I have some friends who live in San Diego near the fields and I got to not only see the flower fields but also visit with them.
The flower fields were so beautiful! I had only previously seen pictures, but they are so much bigger than I expected. I didn’t realize how much land the ranunculus flowers actually took up. It was incredible! When I was looking at the weather for my little trip down to them I was a little bummed because I had bought this dress with the fields specifically in mind, but the weather showed like it would cold. I wore the dress anyway, and boy am I sure glad I did! It was significantly warmer than expected. I loved how the dress had a simple little cut out at the top without being too crazy. I can’t wait to find other ways to style it.
The flower fields were such a fun little day trip to go visit. I truly enjoyed it so much so that my parents even drove down a few days after to go visit it themselves. If you are in the area I suggest going to see them before their season ends on May 8th!
