Outdoor events are probably some of my favorite things to go to! I love picnics in the park, drive in movies, outdoor concerts; it doesn’t matter to me, they’re all incredible! Redlands is a nearby city that Michael’s sister and brother-in-law recently moved close to, and isn’t very far from us in Riverside either! They have an enormous outdoor amphitheater that does concerts and shows and festivities of all kind all summer long. Included in that series of outdoor events, is always some sort of off-broadway like show. This summer they have been gearing up to perform Mary Poppins and finally the show was ready to open.
I’ve been to some similar events that the city of Redlands had put on previously and knew to show up a few hours early to get good seats. This never bothers me since it gives Michael and I the opportunity to bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the company of his family as well. It has been so lovely to have his siblings so much closer now! I packed a simple dinner of fried chicken and potato salad and Michael’s sister brought dessert! The show started right on time, which is always a good sign, and it was just absolutely adorable! The broadway version of Mary Poppins is a bit different than the Disney movie, but I really enjoyed the play.
Recently, I have discovered this awesome website that helps you discover great events in your area. Eventbrite gives you the ability to search events that are around you that might interest you in attending. You can filter them by price, date, or even by the type of event you are looking for. By using Eventbrite’s search tool during summer a person is able to purchase tickets to anything they’d like to do. Wouldn’t that help make someone’s summer seriously incredible!? I mean honestly, imagine having your entire summer planned before you even get there! How great would that be?! They also give you the ability to sell tickets with their event management page.
